Students at Lindfield are extended and supported in their literacy learning through modern and dynamic teaching strategies which are tailored to the needs of individual students.
The effective teaching and learning of English and the foundations of literacy are instrumental within our whole school planning. Students at Lindfield gain a high level of knowledge and competency in talking, listening, reading, viewing and writing with purpose, effect and confidence.
Children are involved in literacy groups each morning, devoted exclusively to literacy development. These groups involve parent and community members and focus on each child's needs within the reading and writing framework.
Support is offered in both the classroom and in small groups for students learning English as their second language. A specialist ESL teacher is a member of the school's dynamic teaching team, there to support and guide your child's learning and development in literacy.
