Student Leadership

The Student Leadership program at Lindfield Public School encompasses the school's belief that leadership provides exceptional opportunities for our students, both in and out of the school setting.

Leadership encourages students to act in roles of responsibility with integrity and honesty, earning the respect of others through their actions. It fosters a sense of vision and purpose, allowing students to work with others to determine and achieve collective goals.

Students take on responsibilities and use decision-making skills in order to carry a project through to a successful conclusion and be active, reflective listeners who respond effectively.

Captains and Prefects

The Lindfield Leadership Preparation program is undertaken by Year 5 students who aspire to be considered for all leadership roles in Year 6. The program incorporates: what makes a good leader, leadership roles within the school and what makes a good relationship. Our students also learn speech writing and presentation techniques.

Leadership positions at Lindfield include School Captains, Vice Captains, Prefects and House Captains.

This program commences in Term 3 each year and runs for five weeks.

Student Representative Council (SRC)

Our SRC is made up of the Captains and Prefects, along with the class captains nominated each term. Two students from each class in Years 2 to 6, are selected by their peers to represent their class in SRC meetings, held three times a term.

The SRC is an active decision-making body within the school. They meet to discuss any business that students feel is significant, bringing ideas and suggestions from the classroom.
