Sport

Lindfield Public School has an enviable record of outstanding sporting achievement, providing opportunities for performance from elite to entry levels. The comprehensive program is designed to foster students' appreciation and commitment to team membership as well as recognise the value of leading an active lifestyle to enhance their physical, social and mental well being.

Representative Sport

Students in Years 3-6 have the opportunity to participate in competitive team sports, competing against other schools in the area. Soccer, netball, modball and cricket are played in the Primary Schools Sports Association competition (PSSA). These sports are also played in state-wide knockout competitions, along with touch football and basketball.

The Highlander Cup is an annual traditional sporting event played against Roseville Public School. Junior and Senior Rugby are offered for the boys and Open age soccer is offered for the girls.

Students also have the opportunity to compete in Athletic, Swimming and Cross Country carnivals. These carnivals allow those students who are performing at an elite level to represent Lindfield in Zone, Area and State competitions.

School Sport

School sport at Lindfield is an inclusive skills- based program.  Through rotational activities, students discover and develop sport-specific skills, along with increased confidence, regardless of individual skill level.

A wide variety of recreational sports is offered, allowing students to participate in physical activity in a social environment. Sports can include ice- skating, rock climbing, tennis and ten pin bowling.

The K - 6 PE program is linked to the Personal Development Health and Physical Education (PDHPE) syllabus and is taught by fully qualified Physical Education specialists.  The program combines individual and tactical skill development through competitive games.
