Robotics
Our school's excellent reputation in robotics has been developed through our after-school program for upper primary students. This incremental program has been designed to equip students with the skills to design, construct and program Lego NXT robots to perform a variety of tasks. Inherent in this learning is the need to solve problems, make continuous improvements, manage time effectively and work cooperatively as part of a team - important skills for life-long learning. Each year, teams are chosen to compete in the NSW RoboCup inter-schools robotics dance competition, held at the University of New South Wales.
Our commitment to innovative technology is demonstrated by the recent acquisition of BeeBots and ProBots robots for our Kindergarten and Infants' students, which will extend their sequencing skills, spatial awareness and mathematical concepts, and prepare them for advanced robotics in the upper years.
